Default Thick pitch chain

Having an issue with setting up my sprockets and chain;

I had assumed that all these CAGS came with #25H chains so I bought a 78t rear sprocket for increased acceleration. The sprocket bolted up just fine with 1/2" clearance from my swingarm. However, while playing with the chain to see if I needed to make it longer, I noticed that the teeth are much smaller on the sprocket. No way will it fit, the chain just slides over the teeth without engaging them. So, I searched......apparently there are two different #25 chains out there. One is thin and one is thick. I do not understand what i have or what I need to buy...

I have 3 ADA front sprockets sitting here and they all fit the chain I have- I also have two stock front sprockets that came with my new clutch housing. they also fit my chain.

My stock 54T sprocket is only about an inch smaller than the new 78t. From what I have read, a 68t "thick" sprocket is almost the same size as my wheel.

Did I get the wrong part or what? What exactly did I buy? What do I need to buy?

hmm maybe if you can take some pics?

cuz theres #25 then #25h which is stronger but they both fit exactly the same.

the chain on my quad has half gold (thicker) connected to regular black (thinner) i had no issues connecting my different chains and so far so good ohh and they're both wore the hell out from previous bikes.

Do you see the difference? I am thinking the rear sprocket is the issue...

hmm that rear 78 tooth looks identical to mine the stock sprockets wont work with #25 chain so if the chain you're using doesnt fit that 78 tooth rear then your chain is wrong size.

ada pinions should have the same teeth set up as that 78 tooth rear (small tiny teeth)

could it be possible thats #35 chain? cuz i know thats what the karts use and it looks kinda like #25 just a tad bit larger.

i'll go out tonight and measure the #25 chain and see if its the same as what you have in the pic

I took the chain to a scooter store and they showed me a 25 chain......much much smaller. Apparently, this thing has been running mismatched stuff from the factory. The 25 chain fits perfectly. I must have had a 35- though it is twice the size of the 25. I am now converting the entire quad to 25H.
