Default This is why!!

i have seen how the polini engines make power like thay do!!!!

the crank has everything to do with it!!!!!!

the stroke the reed design the transfers evrything is optimized to work together to make an engine like that kick ass!

my theorie is if you did the same to a cag it would have the same feel!

a bigger stroke means more of the transfer can be exposed which meansmore fuel/air to go in it also means that the crankcase compression is way higher which causes greater port velocity! the duration of the ports is longer and if you know four strokes you know thats this is the same as a big cam!!! longer duration and bigger lift! but with ports instead of valves!

so in essence if you were to take a cag engine and stroke it and make it just as lite as it was stock but a fcsc then your hp should go through the roof combined with corect port timing on a 44mm head with a steel sleeve to make a 40mm head and 5 ports with! a 4 petal reed cage and some good crank bearings i beleive 18g on a cag is plausible!

now with simple mods like a 15:1 compression and a hemi style chamber with a big carb and a good pipe its possible to make 8hp out of a cag engine.....

the only thing is...the cases on a cag limit the stroke. and the magnetos on these engines sure as hell wont allow 18g in rpm. so a flying trigger msd type sustem is needed

i need some info on these italian engines guys bear with me as we can have the chance of making the most killer cags ever.

i need ign timing specs, clutch weight/engagement rpm,
flywheel specs, port timing, port duration, crank weight, piston specs, just the works

thanks for any help guys-TG

I dont care what you do to a cag motor 8 hp will never happen !!!!! Period !!!! Not out of a A/C. Giannini cant even get that and he is one of the best builders . sorry !!!! and 18000 rpms not gonna happen there are alot of top built W/C motors that wont turn that many RPMS and if they do they wont make the bottom end needed . Think about it like this most w/c motor make there peak HP around 11500-13500 rpms depending on squish . I have a bunch of specs on weights on stuff that i took on difference between polini and the banshee polini rep parts . like clutch weights, crank weights, piston weights, rod lengths, crank diameters, flywheel weights and timing . I dont claim to be a pro builder by any means but I have talked to some of the top builders and I have gotten alot of good info from some of them . some dont care to give you any info . but oh well you get what you can that helps .
Its not just the crank that makes the polini power its the port design . have you ever seen the inside of a polini cylinder.?? port design is everything . polini 50 cc 5 t cylinders make punch you in the face bottom end power . where a BZM 50 6t makes smoother power through out the whole rev range and they continue to rev to no end . this is in the port design . I got all kindsa info if there is something you looking for . but what Im telling you is 5.5-6 hp is a more realistic # for a cag and that is high . bolt ons will not get you there . you cant even compare A/C ports to a polini or polini to a./c 2 completely different designs . If you want some port pics of a polini top end or polini let me know . I have just gotten my giannini built top end GP3 that I can take some pics of . the porting work done on it its very intricate.
no choppy work here and the ports have been opend up huge compared to stock . i cannot wait to try it.

i will be making my own ports! im using the 44 mm heads with a sleave inside that will create ports simalar to a polini!
did sr20 tell you about the 16g rpm cag?! i dont want you guys to tell me how its impossible just let me figure it out i look at it this way if a goped can hit 23g rpms why cant a cag get close? why not try?
im doing major MAJOR mods to the cag engine to get this done

if it doesnt work it will still be quite a powerfull motor wont it?
the port design is like it is cause the crank will alow it!

i have a couple of welded mid bike pistons that have the thin ring grooves from ada so it will have only one groove and a thin ring.
im thinking of doing the goped trick and slippery nickel coating it

youll never get a cag engine anywhere period, you will waste so much money on stuff you dont even know will work

id like to see some teenager make a race cag motor, and even if you did know about motors im not sure why you think it would work

how about you work your ass off to get a job at a machine shop? teenagers just dont get hired at a shop if the dont know what the fuck they are doing.

i dont give a shit about the "italian race bikes"
any one can go fast on those
my motor may not come out to my expectations but im sure that we can all agree that it will be quite a strong pulling china motor thats one of a kind.
all i got to do is go to work and look in the scrap bin and i can make my own cranks, pistons cylinders and whatever i want.

if i want a big adrenalin rush all i got to do is get in my drag car!
