Default oil change

any easer way to change the oil on a x18 other than tacking your fairings off sounds like a pain.

here is some actual helpful advice..A member on here said to take out the bottom screws that hold the bottom of the farings together, put a piece of 2x4 or 4x4 wood inbetween the fairings to keep them apart.Sholud give you enough clearance to drain the oil.

I just drilled a hole in the fairing below the drain plug then used a tool like a dremel to make the hole about 2 inches or so in diameter. It works great and you don't see it unless you lay the bike down so it doesn't look bad at all.

if i remember correctly didnt he also have a problem with oil spilling all over the fairings from doing it that way?

you guys with these hard to change the oil bikes need to seriously invest in one of these! just turn the valve and the line is hooked up to guide the oil wherever you want it to go. no cutting holes no taking nothing apart no tools and no mess! as long as you can fit your hand in there to turn the valve. i use these on my cars and can change my oil wherever and whenever i want!

just be careful when you are spreading the plastics apart. They are fragile and can break.

And that oil drain plug set up is tight.
