k lets go over this again cuz i've got a new goal! im no longer looking to make the worlds highest hp horizontal motor yet i still want mad power and most important gas mileage! the gpx 160cc stock with a ct70 tank which swanni said holds just a little under 2 gallons only gets 42miles per tank going by Dan lorenzes gpx 160cc specs. which sucks! i thought these get like 140mpg? anyway doing a 178cc s cut kit is not the answer to gas mileage! but i was thinking! the lifan 150cc has a small tiny bore of 56.4mm vs the yx 60mm+ pistons yet it has the longer stroke which means with the smaller bore gets better gas mileage? since theres less room in the combustion chamber for air/fuel. so someones selling a 57mm bb piston for the lifan 150cc which the lifan is really only 147cc's and this 57mm piston sets it to 150.1cc's. well what if i bought the lifan 150cc engine then sent my cylinder out to this guy to get bored for the new 57mm piston and ready for the question? bolted on a takegawa +r head?! will this +r head fit the lifan 150cc? or is it for the gpx/klx motors only? and then theres the v2 head which from what i read is not as good as the +r head. im thinking a combo of a nice head with a long stroke and smaller bore will get good gas mileage, be reliable, and fast! what do you think? or whats this star motor you're wanting to build?

i wonder if anyones even considered putting a 200cc vertical into a ct70 now that would be some shit! but i wonder if it would fit? i definitly know there would need to be another or bigger gas tank to go for a good ride cuz the gpx 160cc stock gets 42 mpg on the ct70 and thats not much my civic gets better gas mileage and its a car with 4 cylinders and a way bigger engine! somethings not right. its that Dan Lorenze guy that i got those gas mileage figures from his thread at planetminis.

even if running around town
its bad if you kickstart it and the motor breaks lol
-
so the lifan 150's are better then the yx150's after all! i've seen all these horror stories on planetminis about all these 150 yx motors having problems like one guy broke the engine trying to kick start it! and i seen others. so far theres a few that are having problems with the lifan 150cc popping out of second gear at high rpm! which cant a kitaco or takegawa parts fix this stuff? like putting real polini parts on a rep for example? but you know these guys are driving the hell out of those pitbikes! im just gonna be cruisin trying not to scratch my bike lol my engine will be more for cruising and highway mileage not wot track riding with stopping and going dropping the clutch every time.

yes and no
since these motors powers have increased the transmission and clutches have stayed the same not increase durability at the least so 3 rd gear will break down time to time
but in the long run the 150 lifans have a way more longer life spand expected with the YX motors
-
how fast do these 150-160 motors go anyways? can they cruise steadily at 75mph for hours?
-
bore it to a egual bore and stroke and you have some great torgue like the 146 motors
and try to get some 28 24 valve s for it and a PWK rep carb like myne
there a bitch to tune but once tuned your topend and overall midrange power is fucking awesome

lifan 150cc with 59mm high compression akunar piston and race cam for bvh ported with a 30mm mikuni and big bore pipe is that any good? or how much can you bore the lifan 150cc to? its got a 56.4mm bore stock with a 15mm pin. but the stroke is 59mm!!!!! thats more then the 160cc gpx! can a scut kit fit the lifan 150cc? and whats with this v2 head? i read something about bigger fully stainless valves?

now that i think about more it might be better to just buy an x18 and sell both x7's and part out the x18 only keeping the things i'll need.
-
the x7 4 stroke and 2 stroke have different tree forks the 4 stroke is alote more thicker thats why pbu sells "upgraded forks for the x7 when its just 4 stroke front end lol
not to sure about the x18 rear oging to fit on the 2 smoker though..but worth a try!
